Hello Everyone -

Last week we welcomed Will Conklin and heard about the expanded programs
that Greenagers is offering throughout the County.  In addition to hiring
individuals to work on the trail crews and in its farm apprenticeship
programs, Greenagers is also sponsoring a program where an individual,
business or family can purchase a 4'x 8' raised vegetable bed that
converts to a mini-greenhouse.  For every raised bed purchased, a second
bed is donated to an income-eligible family in Berkshire County.  For more
information about Greenagers, please visit www.greenagers.org.

Drive for Scholarships:  This week begins our final push towards the Drive
for Scholarship Golf Tournament.  If you haven't already, please contact
Scott Rote at srote@wheelerandtaylor.com and let him know where you can
help out that morning.  We truly do appreciate all the efforts of the Golf
Tournament committee is putting together this event.  There is absolutely
no way our Club could award $40,000 in scholarships without all their hard
work and efforts with this event.

Restaurant Raffle:  With the above-said, we also need everyone to make a
final push to sell raffle tickets.  The drawing is the day of the Golf
Tournament, so please make the sales and bring your ticket stubs and money
to this week's meeting, or get them to Barbara Manring prior to July 23rd.

Breaking Bread:  Our evening for Breaking Bread has been changed from
August 13th to July 30th.  This was done at the request of members on the
Bike N Fly Committee so that we would not be undertaking Breaking Bread at
the same time as individuals were trying to set up at the airport.  Please
mark your calendars to help out on July 30th. I will have more information
on this next week.

People's Pantry: This week's item is PASTA SAUCE.

Thank you for all you do for Rotary.  I know it is an extremely busy time
of year, and for our Club.  We will rest in September!

From the Rotary Foundation:

HOW DID THE ROTARY FOUNDATION GET STARTED?  The Rotary Foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International’s sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary “to do good in the world.”  It has grown from an initial contribution in 1917 of $26.50 from the Rotary Club of Kansas City, Missouri to more than 2.663 billion dollars in total contributions.  The Rotary Foundation made its first grant of $500.00 to the International Society for Crippled Children in 1930, and to this day, it continues to “do good in the world” in the name of Rotary.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND ITS WORK.

See you all at the meeting!

Susan
